Here at SAU Tech, we use Brightspace to host all of our courses.  Even if you are not taking online classes with us, you will still use Brightspace to view your course syllabus.  The Center for Online Learning is here to help if you ever encounter issues with Brightspace. Students Taking Online Courses

If you are taking online courses with us for the first time, you are required to take Learning Strategies before gaining access to your semester courses.  This quick training gives students hands-on practice using Brightspace and exposes students to some of the online services available at SAU Tech. Students will gain access to Brightspace 2 weeks before courses begin to complete this 30-minute training.  If you need further assistance, please contact the Center for Online Learning for additional support. 

 

Technical Requirements for Brightspace

Students are responsible for having the technology required to complete online coursework.  The following is required to have the best experience with our online courses:

Accessing Brightspace

To ensure full functionality of SAU Tech online courses, please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You will need your student ID and Social Security number to log in.

Before accessing your courses, complete the System Check using the “System Check” link under Technology Requirements or by clicking here. Review the results and follow any instructions to resolve issues. Please run this check on any device you plan to use for coursework.

Brightspace uses single sign-on (SSO). First, log in to My Launchpad using the blue login button and complete Microsoft Authenticator verification. Once signed in, select the Brightspace link in the yellow box on the left side of the screen.

Login Credentials:

  • Username Format:
    Last Name + First Letter of First Name + Last 4 Digits of Student ID + @sautech.edu
    Example: Jane Smith with student ID 6180-01234 would use:
    SmithJ1234@sautech.edu
  • Password Format:
    Saut + Last 4 Digits of Your Social Security Number
    Example: Jane Smith with SSN 111-22-3333 would use:
    Saut3333

Note: The Brightspace link in the yellow box will only appear after you sign in to My Launchpad.

Brightspace/My Laucnhpad/Microsoft Authenticator Help

  1. If you receive an error message when clicking the Brightspace link, contact the Center for Online Learning at 870-574-4453 or mjoe@sautech.edu. If you are near campus, we are located on the top floor of the Administration building.
  2. If you receive an error message on your My Launchpad username or password, contact our IT Department at 870-574-4701 or pgraham@sautech.edu
